The Lakes is a comprehensively planned residential community consisting of 1,080 acres locaed in the city of Blaine, Minnesota.
Our Neighborhoods in The Lakes
Sharper Homes currently has four different neighborhoods in The Lakes, each offering a different style of home.
- Crown Meadows - Association maintained, attached rowhomes
- Crown Shores - Single Family lakeside homes
- Crown Woods - Single Family homes featuring spacious lots and 3-car garage options
- Emerald Glen - Association maintained, detached townhomes with single level homes and optional lofts
Lakes, Ponds and Bays
Lakes, ponds and bays provide 159 acres of interconnected and navigable waterways with 1.4 miles of publicly accessible shoreline. The large central waterbody is intended to impart community identity, a sense of place, long views with a horizon, open space and seasonal recreational opportunities.
Parks and Open Space
Parks and open space account for 36 percent of the site, including lakes, parks and linear parkways. There are five main parks, including the 9 acre northern civic area park and beach (see below) and the 8 acre western neighborhood park.
Lakeside Commons Park
At the north shoreline of the central lake is the Lakeside Commons Park and Beach area. This civic park area includes a large playground, concession facilities for boat rentals, dock area, beach, splash pad, and gazebo and picnic pavillion.
Parkways and Boulevards
Each parkway or boulevard will have its own planting theme that will help orient the motorist, pedestrian or cyclist while providing view opportunities of the lakes and water features. These roadways will include sidewalks, bike trails, landscaping, undulating berming, and medians to create a "green corridor" for its passangers.
Trails
The trail system contains approximately 15 miles of pedestrian paths, 4 miles of bike paths, and 2 miles of regional trails that link The Lakes with they City's open space system, including Pioneer and Lochness Parks.Location and Directions
The Lakes is located in Blaine, Minnesota, approximately 15-25 minutes north of Minneapolis. Primary access is off Main Street (125th Ave, County Road 14) from the north and Radisson Road from the west.
Driving Directions:
From the South:
- I-35 North to Radisson Rd (95th Ave) - Go west
- Radisson Road to Lakes Parkway - East to neighborhood
From the West:
- Hwy 10 to Hwy 65 - Go North
- Hwy 65 to County 14 (Main St.) - Go East
- Main Street to Harpers Street - Go South to neighborhood
Schools
Homes in The Lakes are located in three different school districts:
- Anoka-Hennipen Dist. 11
- Spring Lake Park Dist. 16
- Centennial Dist. 12 (Small portion of eastern section of the neighborhood)
